Michael Hussar: American PainterI've been staying with Michael here in LA for the past week, he's an amazing artist and a good friend if you don't know his work you should check it out: [link]
Aside from lots of drinking, making plaster casts of our fists, and shooting hot naked girls for various projects I found time to shoot a portrait of him.
I've wanted to capture a good shot of him for a long time.
He's also painting a portrait of me which is a longer process, I'm really happy with it.

this portrait of him is awesome, i love his work too, just went to one of his exposition few months ago,and since i live in Rome i'm always looking for his new art expos around the eternal city.

i met a guy in a moshpit with a beard like that... he said it took him three years to grow. and holy christ people with the making a big deal over the spelling whoopsies... its the internet the lack of correct spelling or grammer truly does not distract from what the person is trying to say... like jeeze rather than argue about who said what and how its supposed to be spelled couldnt we all just celebrate this guys skills as a photographer?

The shapes of the beard along with the shapes of the background manage to create a kind of movement in an otherwise motionless picture (almost like flames). It enhances the feeling of anticipation, that something is about to happen.
I really like this picture. It's powerful.

It's a masterpiece, but I don't understand why do you darkened his upper bald head - now the specular is grey, what never happens with vignetting/shadowing in reality. It's a huge flaw on this awesome picture.
