Definately agreed! They're a lovely loyal breed, but are stereotyped as a snappy agressive breed. My baby is the most woosiest dog I have ever had. He let's 8 year old children tackle him and escorts toddlers around on his back.

You have a really friendly pup! I think all dogs can be aggressive but it depends on the owner. Gimli is skiddish and doesn't like strangers but he doesn't attack anyone as long as they leave him alone. He pretty much minds his own business unless someone invades his space. Some people will let their kids come up to him and pet him without asking me first!! That's irresponsible to me on their part and I always have to tell the kids to please not pet him. He's never bitten anyone but he's so skiddish I'm not going to take that chance. The last thing I want is for him to end up being put to sleep so I'm extremely cautious. He's done really well around the kids I've introduced him too but I can't see him letting kids hang on his back

That is quite true, luckily kids here always ask before they pet him. Strangers tend to not want to pat him offenly, mainly because...(have been told this by a stranger) "that they were freaked out by his one blue eye and brown eye" Funny though, that's one of the main reasons he stood out to me as a puppy. Bowie, has never bitten anyone, but he is a extremely alert and energetic dog. (will always follow, if you leave the room or will perk his ears up at any noise) He's quite good, but anyone or thing outside of the yard's fences he will bark his head off at.
Although he has growled once at another dog for coming near his bone.
Your dog sounds very content and loyal to his master.

hmmm are they getting bigger? to be honest. . i never even thoguht they were big until peopel started pointing it out. My last dog Holly had big ears [link] . . and she was only 40lbs. well the tops of her ears are cut off. . but they were big. . so gimli jsut seemed normal to me

he is right. . he's a boy. . well his growing slowed down.. he was gaining like 2-3 lbs per week and now it's like 1/2 a pound. . he did get nice sexy long legs though. haha

I saw your sam! he's cute. he does look like a border collie to me. and he's really cute playing with his toys! It's good taht you got a puppy from the shelter. . then they can have a nice home instead of getting put to sleep. I got most of my dogs there. My best dog holly was from teh shelter.

yeah i know the animales in the shelter need love to and somethimes it think earn it more then others. iam so happy i found him he is now playing again but it isnt a toy it is a bone lol he likes to chew on it. my first dog wasnt from the animal shelter that was a pup we got from the neighbours but that wasnt really my dog i had to share her with 4 others sam is all mine and mine alone lol. he dont want to listen to my parents or siter but when i say it he does what i ask not insteandly cause he is still learning dutch but he obeys me and not the others and i must say that gaves a great feeling now i really have a dog and he loves me very much.
when it is time for me to get home he gets restless and when i finnally come home he dont let me put away my stuff thill i huged and kissed him or played then it is oke again. he is so clever and funny he makes my sad days so funny and turns them in happy days. i only have real troubles punishing him when he does something that i dont allow so i have to work on that. but further i cant stop talking about him
