Description In Honor of my Goldfish who died. RIP Mr. Fishie. Drew him a Misses Fishie !

Still need to refine the hair, "gills" and shoulders a bit more, but I'm happy with the direction this is taking from the first submission [link] .
Thank you for all the suggestions!

Would LOVE Critiques so I can improve on it. I'm trying take all suggestions into consideration. Do you like the changes?

Photoshop cs6 and a Wacom Intous 4 Large Tablet
About 4 days of work.
Used a mirror for lighting reference.
I used these [link] amazing pore brushes by for most of the skin details. They are phenomenal as a smudge brush!(though beware if your brush is too big you can and will crash PS >.>)

I think this piece has developed very well, the background being solidified helps it quite a bit (better than the 'void' that came before). I still feel as though the gills are unfinished, they feel like they are features set on top of the form rather than integrated into the form. Perhaps more deformation of the neck around the gills would help. Gills on most fish are huge and open completely into the throat of the creature, think that way and I believe they will fit in more effectively. My only other critique would require a complete repaint so it applies more to your future work, but the straight-on position of the head is very stationary, a dramatic angle would lend more interest to the form and the tension in the neck muscles from the change of position would further provide interest.
Otherwise, I do think this piece is very well done, your painting skills are fantastic.

Great job, keep it up......

Fantastic looking gills!! I hope you widen-out the pose to show the rest of her aquatic anatomy...extra fins and webbed hands would look awesome!

Looks really good
I love how the shadows and highlights are in place, the gills look like gills (I've seen artists that doesn't do that), and the colors go so well with female

I'm glad to be of service! ^_^

Yeah its a good thing to do. I want to do that myself, but I don't have a lot of critiques to work from.
I will be here to help with your art as long as you want me to, whether it's reworking your older stuff or creating new stuff. I can't wait to see what you create in Computer Art II. You're work is so good!

Nice, nice, nice! It looks like my critique really helped. You added more gills and made them more defined. You fixed the shadows, too. Her head is no longer floating, because you finished her shoulders. The hair is more defined. You could try adding the water, buttt...
I like it just how it is now. good job! It feels complete now.

Your suggestions were a great help! I never noticed the nose lighting till you mentioned it.

It's honestly the first time I've reworked a "finished" painting because of critiques... I didn't realize how satisfying it was to take something you thought was finished and do more to it to improve it. I'd like to start doing it with more of my paintings.
I can't wait to take Computer Art II this summer. I'm going to churn out some drawings in that class.

This is great! This is awesome! This is amazing! The only thing I think you could add would be a little bit water on skin or hair. She looks so dry.

I thought about that actually. Would be a nice challenge, I've always wanted to paint water droplets on skin. Perfect opportunity.
