Description imagine trees of tangerines,
heavy sagging suns on all the branches.
rip one down, introduce it to
vivisection
(though dead or alive, it
never cries out),
and
squeeze
until pulp like entrails
forces itself between your dripping fingers.

stare blankly at the mess
and attempt to clean it,
succeed only in
staining your clothes golden.
work the designs against your skin
until the mistakes become tattoos
and the rinds before you look
less like refuse and more like
fresh-hatched eggshells.

as the morning scent stings your senses,
reach up.

don't look,
just touch, and
rip down another.

and another.

and another.

god this imagery is perfect - rich and unsettling and divine.

Meaningful. Deep. Your writing always inspires me to keep writing myself.

This what you come up with when you force yourself to write? When I do that, I get a hundred variations of "it was dark and there might have been a woman speaking." That first line ruined my heart and now I'll be thinking of tangerines all day. I don't think they even sell tangerines at the grocery store by my house.Ā  Ā

Lol trust me this was one of the better ones, usually when I force myself to write it starts serious and then devolves into my own personal frustrated and increasingly sarcastic commentary

I haven't seen a tangerine in a while :cĀ

Wow, that's definitely a fascinating and original imagery on the concept. Great work

wow, this is something else altogether. It doesn't feel forced at all, and the imagery is so incredibly breathtaking and outright glorious, it's spellbinding. Ā
you had me at the first line <3

It's lovely, and is imbued with wild abandon.Ā
