Description

"Which house did he say?"

"112 Wraith's Way. We should be close..."

"We should have stopped for directions." Vincent murmured and I glared up at him from the map, irritated and not in the mood after our 2 hour motorcycle ride, but I pushed the feelings away as I looked up at the sky as twilight fell, painting the sky in shades of honey, orange and violet hues. I bite my lip, then gulped.

"Well,  if there's any sense to this stupid map, Goosewin should be just over the next ridge, okay? Someone should've told it's founders it wasn't good building towns in the middle of nowhere."

"If I was going to make a settlement of my own, out here would be rather idealistic...It's very...lovely here, I guess."

I smile at him, folding the map up and shoving it into my coat pocket, well, his coat pocket. I seemed to have forgotten mine and the cold was easily making it's way through my sweater, so, he'd given my his long over coat, and even though it was a bit too big on me, it was warm and smelt like him. I sat back on the motorcycle, slipping my arms around his waist as he rekicked Lucy to life and started down the bumpy and badly paved road. It wasn't so bad though.

Despite the harsh cold winds and the horribly long ride, riding in beautiful countryside with my best friend had been a nice change of pace from the bustling city. Not that I didn't love city life, but it was nice to see the stars every now and then.

"Erin."

"Hmm?

I looked at him, the dying sunlight giving his usual canvas colored skin a soft amber color, his eyes darkened in the growing shadows as he looked forward, and I look forward, seeing where he was looking.

"Oh...It looks so pretty from up here..."

A large weather worn sign stood just to the side of the road, white letters expressing in cheerful cursive Welcome to Goosewin: Pop. 890. Down the inclince, just far enough away, were the glowing lights of the town, twinkling and shimmering like orange stars.

I find myself clutching to Vincent, but thinking nothing of it.

"...I hope we made it in time..."

He nods, and I see his grip tightly around the bikes handles.

"...So do I."
