Description Aother one in my partrait series - Salma Hayek (Actress). Painted with acrylics on acrylic paper, roughly A5 size. I tried to get the red/blue contrast as strong as possible. Shading the skin tones took much longer than I hoped (as always!).

Thank's for taking a look

I have used acrylics only two times and did not know acrylics could have such a beautiful result like your painting of this actress. Her face looks very real and you captured her emotion well. The fabric is also well rendered. I only wish to see some shine in her hair. Maybe no highlight in her photograph But still a very nice portrait as a whole! You have good eyes for details

Hey thank you very much . I like the colour you can get with acylics, I also gree with your point about the shine in the hair, If I get a chance I may touch it up a little. Thank's again for the

It was only my two cents' worth re highlight in hair. I was worried you were offended by my comment ! I really like your painting of Salma, it truly is beautiful, the eyes, the little nose and the lips, all looking so perfect. I will try to paint acrylics next time to see if I can have happy results

Oh no I wasn't offended, I appreciate the suggestion & I do agree with you. Good luck trying out acrylics for yourself One good thing I like about them also is that they dry really quickly Thank's again for the nice comment

You're welcome. By the way, what medium did you use on Salma, matte or gloss? It was long time ago when I first tried out acrylics and I forgot what medium I used. When I was at the art store last week, I saw 2 above- mentioned kinds and I bought the gloss. Thanks for your response!

I used matt acrylic for all my portraits, I'm not sure how different they are to paint with I have used an acrylic gloss varnish before, just to go over the top of the painting with. Hope you have fun with the new paint anyway

Thank's very much , well I'd gladly trade my paint skills for your digital art skills!, there's so much more you can do with digital. I'm gonna give it a go too

Well the difference is in the colouring, in digital art, you just build up the colours on top of each other, in traditional art you can't because there will be too much confusion. I can tell you you'll manage to create great digital art because you have talent, you just need some practice with shading, and a graphics tablet
