Yah.. there's something odd on the positioning. I think it's the neck... when you are being looked from behind, you can indeed turn your head to the side and have a silhouette look like that.. but there's still something that looks missing... I don't know what it could be, I am as good as you are for these things
Anyway, going back to the good qualities of the image, I dig those eyes. The hair's pretty cool, except for the two very utmost parts.. they are so almost aligned.. it looks like he had an helix up there and he could just fly any second now O.o
I dunno where that tail came from.. but it looks good. You could even convert it into a flame and it would give him another good aura. ^^ The hair and tail did turned out good in your style, in my opinion, that is =3 The smile... or smirk... as you wanna call it, also deserves noting.. the expression is very carefully captured. ^^
