Well this is something a bit out of the ordinary for me, but I was sick earlier in the week so I did some sketching and thought it was kind of a cool one so tried to color and shade it in. I've been using Affinity Photo but might try some other programs out soon to see whats best for me.I named this character Umtong and while obviously its pure fantasy I kind of tried for a bird like design. Umtong here is just enjoying life and watching over their eggs, typical Umtong species, you know. I'd love to hear what you think. Especially if you have any ideas or suggestions to help me improve! I like it! Kinda reminds me if a shy guy and a birdo were to merge to create the Umtong species (neat name!). It looks like a really laid back character and this scene does help to portray that. A lazy afternoon, lost in their thoughts (assuming they have them) and watching over their unhatched eggs.
Nothing really comes to mind on how to improve the scene currently. While my preferences isn't always more towards this, I really do like this piece the more I stare at it! Pretty cool

I totally didn't see it before but now that you mention it, it really does look like a cross between a shyguy and birdo lol. Well I guess all those years of playing mario games worked its way into my subconscious o.O
