I just want to say.... I LOVE THIS PICTURE.... It's Jace thinking of Clary... Inspired but not really taken from the second book. AMAZING!Anywho, Jace's lack of pupils were inspired by the amazing Takaya Natsuki the author and artist of Fruits Basket, and her habit of drawing her characters without pupils when they're brooding or thinking or depressed or... dead.... yeah, anyway. Takaya-sama is AMAZING and I LOVE her.
