I got a little curious and wondered what the sailor scouts would look like with hijabs on. As a result, this drawing was born. I tried to do it as close to the 90’s anime style as possible while also giving them individual looks. (Added note: Sailor Mercury is wearing a niqab, not a hijab).

I like this. If you add the other Sailor SCouts, they should have even different forms of head-covering...there's a wide variety of ways in which those female Muslims who cover their heads do so! Many styles of hijab...you also have the Chador, the niqab, there's also that Malay garment that's a combination hood and cloak.

Tht sounds like a great idea! I would have done that, actually, except it didn't really occur to me until I got to Sailor Mercury (the last one I drew). Oh well. ^_^'

There's a few more out there...Sailor Scouts I mean...you just did the original five, four more do join later! And then later Serena's daughter from the future. So there's lots more styles to look at. Including the Chador, and the archaic Yashmak (it was kind of the Turkish answer to the Niqab, but it greatly fell out of use during the Attaturk era, and now Muslim women who want to "cover up" mostly seem to take their cues from the Arab world) and then go to youtu.be/-Ds_IhUASfw around the 30 second mark there's an old woman wearing another kind of head covering (said character though wears a "Mideast-style" hijab when she goes into Kuala Lumpur in a couple of episodes)

Hmm, you're right about that. Well, maybe sometime in the future I'll draw the rest of them. For now, though, I need to renovate this account. The art I posted before was absolutely terrible. D:
