The effect of the golden butterfly on the violet flower is absolutely striking, and how on earth do you get such great closeups of butterflies and moths? Love your work!

i walk slowly and softly
sit still nearby where they are feeding
and just as they land, i creep in and take several shots.
also - i speak several languages of moth & butterfly.

it accepts other lenses
but it has a Carl Zeiss
and a great macro.
a wide angle would be the only desirable option.

Makes me want it more than the Rebel...gah, I hate how addictive this hobby is sometimes

[and How expensive it can be, lol]

...[and how hard it can be on deciding which camera to get ]

Skippers are just so cute with their huge eyes and their broad necks...
But what I love even more is how the flower is glowing in the light.

they are aptly named too!
they flit faster than any butterfly . . .
i love that violet glow too!

In German they are called "Dickkopffalter" , which refers to the broad neck and head. "Dickkopf" is also what you'd called a stubborn person... The English name is somewhat nicer.

did you get my note about butterflies?

littleredelf In reply to devilicious [2003-09-11 03:17:57 +0000 UTC]

yes darling i did,
and trying to compose something thoughtful ...
but i would say, find a treat they like
and shoot them in an all black
or all white setting
or as for mirrors, try them on a flat surface
something enticing and refelctive
maybe a sweet spread on it for them to linger.
