This is Shayded/Cai, another one of my original characters. My husband and I have her deeply rooted in a City of Heroes-based story.

Her story goes like this:

Shayded is an experiment created by the Council for a secret underground project deemed "Project Zero" in an attempt to make the perfect specimen of a living weapon. Using DNA from the Circle of Thorns' monsters for powers of fire and ice, they managed to splice together certain genomes, along with those of homo-sapiens to create a human-looking organic weapon with ram-horns as a minor side effect. Shayded grew into a talented young woman, but, due to an incident where a member of the council attempted to have his way with her, she began to show her true power; a power that was too much for the Council to handle. To suppress her powers, one member decided to take away her only channel for them..her hands. Grabbing a gun, he quickly reduced her lower arms to fragments, allowing her to later be fitted for prosthetics that could control her power output. Shayded continued like this for some time, but found herself lacking the luster of her previous nature. Seeing this, one kind member helped to sneak her out of the prison that was the Council, allowing her to choose her own path...a path, she chose, to become a hero.
