Holy muffin cakes! Did not think that I would be making a comic! O_oAnyway, whilst going through deviantart yesterday, I noticed with the Trainer Red fanarts that people would wonder what will happen if Ash met Red, and battle him. Here is my interpretation; Ash being a goofball and foolishly challenging Red to a match, all simply because they both have a pikachu and because Ash normally just challenges trainers anyway (personally, I think that Ash should carry a game guide... -.- ), well at least when I watched the anime, Ash always seemed to do something foolish...

I believe this Red is suppose to more grown up and mature so that is why is personality and dialogue are not the same as other media. Think about it do you have the same personality and speak the same way you did when you were ten? So if you look at it like that it makes sense.

technically he can be older because gold silver and crystal happened 2 years after red and blue. the reason the anime ages never change is because if ash is suppose to the like the kids that play the games, Nintendo intended 10 year olds to watch the show and buy the toys so making him age wouldn't work for what they are aiming for. yes not everyone changes but the possibility for change is still there, comparing two completely different franchises isn't good for trying to say "fake red".
You could read this without wanting red to be perfectly like canon and you would enjoy it but calling it a 'fake red' because it doesn't match canon is a bit rude to the writer.Β
