Description My mother loves to garden. This past Christmas I wanted to give her something that would never die even through the winter months. here is my very first amigurumi piece ever. I stitched in stone and faceted glass beads to accent the fleece crochet ground (She loved it)

Beautiful!  What kind of yarn did you use for this?

Thank you! it's actually a fleece like yarn I found in Germany. I'm sure it can be found in bigger stores that carry a larger variety. Once you crochet with it, you can't even see the stitches. (I'm assuming we're talking about the greenery)

Yes, the green yarn was what caught my interest.  I've used eyelash yarn before (www.lionbrand.com/yarns/funFur… in black for a Miyazaki style soot sprite, and it was an absolute terror to work with.  Is this closer to the kind of yarn you used? www.lionbrand.com/yarns/newche…

This is the closest I can find to the texture I used tahkistacycharles.com/t/yarn_s… One of the greatest parts is you can double stitch and make your twists or turns as you please since the stitching will be completely concealed in the thick fluff of the yarn! It's great for trees. The furry stuff- I have to agree. It's a nightmare but I think it would make awesome for a weeping willow!
