now i'm not one for truscums and especially not transmeds, they all get on my nerves for many reasons and are a really big obstacle when it comes to me exploring my gender identity and just make me feel shitty about myself, but i still can't help but to be genuinely curious on how one could be trans without having dysphoria, which is, as far as i know, the very thing that makes people uncomfortable with their birth gender
i'm just kinda over here wondering if there's something i'm missing, because if it doesn't take discomfort with the birth gender of a non-dysphoric trans person for them to transition, then what does it take?

there's two more things that could make a trans person trans that i know of and understand; the first is gender incongruence, which is a disconnect that isn't discomforting but still strange. the second is gender euphoria, in which while a person's identity assigned at birth is "fine", they figure out that another identity gives them a sense of true comfort and like it's truly for them (like you might have a chair that's fine to sit in, but you find a much better chair for yourself that's much much comfier, is how i see it).
there's also the fact not all trans folks, dysphoric or no, transition physically, for various reasons; costs, medical problems/fears for side effects, or plain not feeling like it.

> i also have evidence that being truscum was making my dysphoria so much worse because i was constantly and desperately trying to prove i was """trans enough""", but shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, they don't like being told they're making trans people's problems worse
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WENT THROUGH WHEN I CAME OUT AS DEMI (to be honest im still struggling with navigating my identity and i think i feel comfortable as identifying as cis for now, also so i can deck transphobes into the fucking sun as a cis woman) i was literally TERRIFIED to come out lest i be seen as some "attention-seeking snowflake", even to my close friends who i trusted. the idea that you have to fit into a narrow-minded view just so people will respect you is literally so disgusting and damaging, especially to the trans community.
also speaking of boring people who scream "AtTeNTion SekeEr!!111" after people come out about their identity, its funny u mention transmeds bc a certain rancid cockroach lookin ass blaire white (tw: mentions of violent enbyphobia/transphobia ahead) went after sam smith after they came out as nonbinary and called them an "attention seeker", & now hundreds of her stans are claiming shes not transphobic bc shes trans and attacking sam smith. i swear i blocked 50+ transphobes just from looking through 2 threads alone. it was incredibly disheartening to see, especially after sam smith had come out, but they received if not MORE hatred than support & love. if i can recall correctly she also made a video about how she believes ppl who are nonbinary aren't trans because they dont fall into the binary, or some stupid horseshit like that.
anyway sorry i went on a tangent, ive been seeing a lot of transphobia lately and it makes me legitimately so fucking angry that people can be so full of hatred and ignorance. also gonna be real here, half the people i blocked were all right-wing white cis men. wonder why???

EXACTLY like all the truscum mindset does is make it even harder for trans folks to come out as trans, which is ironically the opposite of what they set out to do apparently!!!! but they don't actually want to make it easier for trans folks to come out; they want it to be easier for white American centrist/right wing trans folks to come out while making it harder for every other trans person to gain any sort of acceptance, and holds trans people to a cis-set standard of "acceptable trans people" which is literally one step away from wanting everybody to be cis, and the easiest way to do that is to shame what they consider "other" and call them snowflakes
i've 100% seen the comment by blaire white, and it was absolutely nasty; she's 100% proof that trans folks, both outright transphobic and transmed/truscum (i.e transphobic but dressing it up as progressiveness), should never be able to use the "i'm trans myself" defense. like,,, you're 100% capable of being shit too. i really hope that sam does receive more love in the coming days; being nonbinary is an absolute pain, but it's 100% because of all these nasty transphobes.
oh gosh, i couldn't guess. i wonder why a bunch of people who aren't from a social outclass would hide behind a white trans woman who openly spouts transphobic bullshit. but yeah, this shit also infuriates me.
