Description Another shoot that seems ancient by now (look at all the pretty summer! *_*), and also one of our most expensive ones, since we had to *buy* the apple There are divided opinions within the group about how happy we are with the shoot, but it can’t be denied that this entire shoot was overexposed, causing quite a few blown out highlights due to white tights, shoes and skin meeting pretty intense sunlight. But hey, after all it *is* Snow White, so if it had to happen, this was the perfect shoot Also, since we didn’t have seven (or even one) small men available, and our only other option, using plushies, just seemed incredibly silly, we decided to opt out when it came to the seven dwarves. Let’s just say they were there, but they were so camerashy that we couldn’t take photos of any of their scenes You probably all know the story already, but hey, we’re gonna tell it anyway.
The evil queen is jealous of her stepdaughter Snow White because the girl is said to be the more beautiful than anyone in the country, even the queen herself. She tells one of her woodsmen to take the girl into the forest, kill her and bring her heart back for the queen to see. The man obeys, tempting Snow White by showing her a blossoming tree and telling her that he knows of another tree with blooms ten times a beautiful. She goes with him happily, but when they are in the forest, he raises his axe at her. The look of terror on the face of the sweet, innocent princess melts the old woodsman’s heart, and he tells her what he was asked to do, and that she should run so the queen never finds her. She runs, until she gets to a small cottage, surrounded by bushes and trees and goes to knock at the door. (She then makes friends with seven camerashy, small men who adopt her as a sister and housekeeper.) Meanwhile, the woodsman goes back to the queen and claims to have killed the girl, offering the red belt of InuYasha’s coat, bundled up so that it slightly resembles a heart and claiming it to be the heart of the young maiden. The queen dismisses him and then gleefully eats the “heart”. However, when she asks her magical, all-knowing hand-mirror, it tells her that she is *still* not the prettiest, because Snow White is still around. Furious, the queen makes a new plan and dons a black cape and an apple. Outside the cottage where Snow White now lives, the two meet, and the girl (not recognizing her own stepmother due to the Black Cloak of Stealth) happily receives the gift from the stranger. When she takes a bite, she suddenly clutches her throat and falls dead to the ground, the queen smirking cruelly above her. (The dwarves find their new friend and mournfully place her in a resting pose, presumably planning to bury her once they get home.) A young prince form another kingdom who is wandering the forest comes upon the girl and is mesmerized by her tragic beauty. He gives her a mournful kiss, and she awakens. He helps her up, and once she has explained, he goes to kill the queen for her. The battle is fierce, but his fighting skills are eventually conquered by her dark magic. However, she grows cocky, and turns her back on him once she thinks he is out cold. But the prince is more stubborn than she thought, and he manages to get up and pierce her through with his sword. He then returns to Snow White, who sits just where he left her, waiting for him, with the queen’s crown and puts it on her head, before offering her his hand. She takes it, and the two walk of together, arm in arm.
