Okay, so it's time for another one of the Vampire Queen shoots. As some of you may remember, we did this shoot three times; one inside, one outside at dusk and one in the blazing sunlight.

This is the original one, the inside shoot. In some ways, it's the best one, because we are closer to the camera than on the other two, but it does have strong room for improvement (such as the decapitation of the queen when she gets up). A word to the wise; don't mix reflectors and flash unless you want a really shiny slayer

The story: Lydia is on the way home from a party when a person in a dark cape just appears behind her. She turns in fear, but after looking into the eyes of the woman behind her, she looses all will to fight. After having mesmerized her prey, the vampire, Vivian, sinks her teeth into Lydia's neck. When the girl is almost drained, the vamp offers up her own wrist to drink from. Just as she is turning the girl, they are interrupted by Nicky, a vampire slayer who's hell-bent on taking the vamp down. However, this woman is no ordinary vampire; she's the vampire queen. His special bullets don't seem to do her any harm, and she is too quick for him to stake her. Before long, he is weaponless and the queen is crouching over him, ready to take his blood. What she hasn't expected is that he is much nimbler than she would have thought, and as she's sitting astride him, he uses his legs to pull her backwards and turn the tables. As he prepares to stake her, however, Lydia pounces on him from behind and bites his neck. The queen then feeds him her blood, and before long, he too wakes up a vampire. After the shock, he tries to grab his stake and kill himself, but drops it immediately when the queen orders him to. The two new vampires cower at the queens feet as she smiles contentedly, pleased with the night's results.

Note: The slayer's name is taken from the audio commentary of the first Buffy episode, where Joss Whedon comments (about Xander's bad aim) "Okay, somebody explain to Nick Brennan where the heart is located".
