Description
This is my entry for the Center Stage contest hope I'm not to late.
I chose the Medusa.
The three Gorgon sisters — Medusa, Stheno, and Euryale — were children of the ancient marine deities. Phorcys and his sister Ceto, or sometimes, Typhon and Echidna, in each case chthonic monsters from an archaic world.
Some characteristics of the medusa i found on the internet
- snakes for hair
-red lips
-long iron nails ( more like claws in my drawing)

So let's get to the description of the dress
The sleeves are layered green silk.
The shoulder thinghies are also made of silk with golden beads atached to them.
The top part is made of black velvet with white beads atached.It continues with cream orangish velvet material witch is wrapped around a long plastic to stiffen it. I also atached various gems to it to make it look more rich and colourfull. 4 Swirls start at the end of it symbolizing the medusas claws.
Around the abdomen part, the dress continues with black velvet witch is gathered to form a lot of tiny folds.
The skirt of the dress is made out of green layered silk with a hoop skirt underneath. I added a piece of the material from the shoulders to the dress to add a pop of colour.
She also has an b&w neclace wrapped around her neck.
Now the maaask..
In the detailed shoots you can see that the mask has a pretty mean look in her eyes( the lineart) in the coloured version i didn;t quite succeded to make that look it appears as a more distant almost ice look.
The snakes of the mask wrap around her redish hair. They have diferent gems to mimick different snake patterns. Her lips are red. In the profile lineart you can see she has tiny long braids you can see them on the coloured version if you look really close.
That's all i hope this dress gives you the impresion of the venetian carnival and that you'll like it .
