Description
Evening view from the village of Mürren in Central Switzerland. What is in the photo lies to the east of Lauterbrunnen Valley and should have a name, but unfortunately I do not know it. Views from Mürren belong to the most stunning ones I have ever seen, though I haven't even walked round the whole of the village. It seems to me that there's something from Middle-earth in this landscape: in 1911 J.R.R. Tolkien came to Mürren from Lauterbrunnen while travelling in Switzerland. Definitely agree about the M-e reference - I thought at first it was going to be an image of Gondolin. Stunning work - the sense of grandeur and vastness is extremely palpable.

Thank you! This valley is elongated and geographically not very "hidden". But from the place where I was standing it looked like the image in the photo. Maybe it resembles a bit J.R.R. Tolkien's illustration of Gondolin and the surrounding valley.
