fools,
trying to act.
Trying to
mimic,
pretend,
to be someone
they aren't.
If that alone
qualifies you
as an actor,
why not sign
up
society?
I'm sure we'd
all
do
great.
But as I
watch upon
these people,
I find
myself
classifying them
as they classify
me.
There's the boy
who thinks
he's
emo,
cutting his
wrists
and
listening to his
My Chemical Romance
CD's.
But this isn't
him.
None of these
people
are the masks
that they
wear.
But at least
all they wear
is
masks.
Those are
nothing
compared to the
body armor
I put on
every day.
I'm "normal"
to the
"weird"
and
"weird"
to the
"normal".
Where does that
leave me?
Stuck in
between?
No.
Perhaps
I'm neither.
I know
I am
not
alone.
But
it's hard
to
take off
that armor
when no
one
can
find the
words, the
courage,
to speak
up.
Until I
change
or those
of us
who are
different
can come
together
and be
embraced
we will
forever be
the silent
knights.
