My godmother/7th grade science teacher likes Twilight, my best friend likes Twilight, the librarian at my local library likes Twilight, some of my classmates from the 6th grade like Twilight. Are any of them "rabid fangirls"?
...
Nope!

My ex-friend said I was an obsessed fangirl.
Seriusly, I laughed at her face.

It is rather annoying.
I think the problem is is that they don't get exposed to non-annoying obsessed persons.
They don't realize you can be perfectly sane and reasonable and still have an "unreasonable" love of something.

X3
I know. There are a lot of things I love, but I know better than to pin some up against a wall and go "and then, in this rp, Naruto..." (true story by the way.)
The difference between a fan and a fantard is knowing when its not appropriate to bather on about one's obsession

It's true that within fan communities there are stereotypes that do in fact exist, but to classify everyone in a fandom by those stereotypes is just plain stupid.
