Hey Livyer..... Honest opinion....?
The lighting's wrong...... The shadow on the RHS of the castle is too dark, I feel it's that's driving you crazy. Looking at the yin-yang lighting, and given that the LHS of the castle is in darkness, the RHS would be lit brighter. i think the only way otta this is to hand paint the RHS of the castle, or get your ref again and see what tweaking you can do with the lighting. As it stands,, the castle is wrong with the consistency throughout......
