I bet.Did he race? What was his name? I always wanted to ride a horse by myself, but never got the chance. I've only ridin ponies!

Nop, he was a dressage horse, took part in planty of competitions.
And if you don't afraid of horses (nothing to be afraid of - they are very kind by default - only man can make 'em fierce), you should obviousely try to ride!
