Description I'm not usually one to brag, but this came out pretty epic in my opinion. I don't normally use that much detail in my shading and highlights (now that I think about it, I rarely use highlights), but with this piece, I just couldn't resist. I heavily used this reference: [link] If you are the original maker of this wallpaper, I thank you! Please ask me if you want to use this, because it's my drawing and coloring, no tracing, bases, or borrowed elements have been used. If you want the full process (if you're still unsure if this is mine or not), read the paragraph within the bullets.

First, I found the above reference on Google to use for both perspective and position. I did a base sketch on the page (which is basically a blocking out the placement of each body part), then added hair and clothing details on top of it. I made slightly harder pencil lines over the places I wanted to ink, so I didn't accidentally ink the base. Once that was done, I VERY carefully inked over each desired line, making sure to not leave out a single detail before erasing the pencil marks underneath. After scanning the inked version, I had to change the image in PhotoShop to a grayscale, a bitmap of 1400 pixels per inch, back to grayscale, and back to RGB format. I went in with a 5 pixel diameter paintbrush to close off any open spaces I could find so the fill bucket wouldn't spill into the background. Once I was ready to color, I did run into some problems. I wanted the colors to be accurate, so I tried to use the eyedropper on a screencap, but the eyedropper wasn't giving me the correct color, so I had to make the colors from scratch as well. For a good shading and highlight effect, you generally need 3-4 shades of the same color, and black, just in case. I started by outlining the shades and highlights, filling them in, THEN adding the non-shade colors (if that makes sense). Basically, while I was working, the image looked white with random colors splashed into the areas that would naturally require shading. Then I added the colors that were neither shades or highlights afterwards. (That probably makes a little more sense.) Once the entire image was colored, I used the Magic Wand tool to capture the background so I could add a light blue to black gradient circle as the background. To finish it off, I had to scale it down to about a 1/10th of its original size, because deviantART wouldn't accept it otherwise (the file was enormous). So there you have it. Now you can make one of your own! (And not harass me for tracing or stealing because now you know that I did it myself!)

I spent a good part of 6-7 months learning to draw like that, and I'm still looking to improve my drawing style. It takes a looooong time, trust me.
