There are so few multichapter Tales of the Abyss fanfics out there, and would you believe Meimi finished with 61,148 words in 28 days? Utterly amazing.
SPOILERS for the game though:

"Uhm," Luke began uncertainly, casting Asch an anxious glance before calling out. "Hey, Ion?"
/Address him with his proper title, you ingrate./ Asch punctuated his reprimand with a moderate shove.
Luke scowled at him and then rolled his eyes. "Fon Master Ion." /There, happy now?/
/Not particularly, but there may be some hope left for you after all, miniscule though it might be./
/Shut up./
Ion looked back at the pair and couldn't help but smile. They really did almost appear like mirror images in that moment: sitting across from each other on the bed, one leg curled up, their knees touching, and the other leg hanging carelessly off the side. They looked awfully cute like that, but he would keep that observation to himself. They might take offense if he gave it voice. And... he just wanted them to be happy. "Yes?" he prompted after a few seconds spent simply enjoying the view.
"Well, uh," Luke scratched the back of his head nervously and glanced over at Asch again, then sighed and looked back at Ion solemnly, "We're very sorry for all the trouble we've caused you the past couple of days."
"Oh," Ion murmured, his eyes widening in something akin to awe. Then he shook his head, raising his hands and waving them gently, as if to ward off any further apologies. "No no no, please don't apologize. I'm glad that you came to me. That you... even thought of me when you needed such desperate help. I just... wish I could have done something more for the both of you."
Asch and Luke looked at each other thoughtfully for a moment, then they both turned and smiled gently at Ion. "You did much more than we could have hoped for, Ion. You kept us safe. Thank you."
Ion laughed weakly and reached up to wipe surreptitiously at the corner of his eyes. How silly of him, he shouldn't cry when he felt so happy. They were his friends. It was the least he could have done for them.

I loved that story... Apparantly Memi was going to write a contination after a break (after all nanowrimo can be tough for the best of writers) but that was over 4 years ago... Never happened as far as I know...

I wonder why I never faved this pic, seriously. Everytime I look up for Luke art of refs, I end up clicking this one and can't help but stare. I just love how it's drawn and how relaxed they both look
It's by far one of my favourite Luke and Asch works out there. I've seen some kick-ass coloured works left and right, but this one image just makes smile everytime I see it <3
And I love how Asch's hair is braided

I marvel at your ability to get your scanner to corporate with you. My has a tendency to kill things that get scanned on it. That and the ever so loving/cuddly (can you see the sarcasism here lol) look so handsome. Was going to say something else but I reigned in the fangirlism. lol

*is in total awe of piece* i need to read this!! it sounds very well written for only 28 days of work!! o_0 she's got to be either a) an amazing writer with the AWESOMEST organization skills or b) she's planned all this out and just wrote what plot was on her mind or c) she worked on all this for AGES then said that it took her only 28 days to complete this work...

XD;;; Ahahahaha. Well, Tales of the Abyss came out here in October, and then when I gave in to the fact that I'd probably be doing fic for it for NaNoWriMo it was October 26th. So I had, what, five days to come up with a sufficient plot to carry through for 50k words, I guess? Half of the scenes weren't exactly planned... XD;; I just needed more word count. Eheh. So no, not really any of those options, just d) absolutely frakkin crazy.
I still love the fanart to death though (and now have to suffer through planning for the sequel D: ).
