Very beautiful and wonderfully crafted! I like how the animals look like the threads of fate.

This one is really interesting with the soft textures and the squirrels wearing what reminds me of faerie clothing. Great job on the pose as well, I love it, it really draws your eye up the tree.

Ok.
I would buy this.
1. it's not JUST a character that I don't recognize/haven't attached myself too. I find myself turned off by characters that the artist obviously loves but that I find myself not really attached to. THIS drawing is beyond that. It really speaks to more than just a character in a story. It portrays real emotion and depth. It makes me WANT to know the character.
2. It's got some of the prettiest details I've ever seen in your art work. I appreciate all the work that clearly went into the little things: the hair, the furr, the ropes, the background, the skin, the expression, everything.
3. It feels like a finished, well polished piece. I enjoy the color, the shape, the design, and the texture in it. It has balance, contrast, and appeal. I really, honestly, enjoy this one.
Good job Liz. This one really blows me away.

thankyou! that's so kind. ^_^ it made me all giggly-giddy to read it. I'm glad it came across the way it did, with the character interest and all.

Wow, this is fantastic. How'd you start it out? I've always wondered how digital paintings start off. Did you block in colors first or go off of a sketch? In any case, it's beautiful. I love the little houses/huts at the top of the picture.

well, i drew the character as a sketch based on a pose i found in stock photos. Then i did a rough sketch on the computer of the tree and squirellers. I did all the detail on the tree and just kind of went from there. thanks for asking. ^_^

thanks! Oh yeah, i know how you feel, i did at least 3 other pictures while working on this one, when i got fed up with it. ^_^ My trick was to watch every season of six feet under while working in it.
