Low clouds last through the entire day and obscure the surrounding hills. Strong gusts of wind come rolling in from the ocean and will strengthen through the afternoon in particular. This will cause the otherwise calm ocean to become rather choppy with plenty of whitecaps and sea foam along the shore. Cloud bursts of rain that are short lived but heavy will blow in sporadically through the afternoon and should continue through the evening. Both wind and rain will ease around midnight though the clouds will remain and obscure the night sky completely.9am - Welcome to Country + Event Safety briefing9:30am - Finest, Elite, and Supreme Ranked Horse Parade10am - Premium, and First Premium Graded Horse Parade11am - Midday Beach Ride12pm - Buffet Lunch for competitors1-5:30pm - Inspection Classes in Outdoor Arenas 1+27pm - Camp dinner around Fire Pits in the Covered Arena, Day 2Minimum: 6*c Maximum: 9.5*cThe clouds will remain low and covering the hills for the entire day. But a light misty rain will occur during the entire morning and stop around lunchtime. The afternoon will be slightly more pleasant to be out from cover, though still cold and wet due to how soaked the landscape is. Winds will pick up again overnight, and warnings have been issued for falling limbs so beware of camping or resting beneath the gum trees. The waves on the beach will be heavy due to the increased wind and audible through the night even as far as the camp sites.8-11am - Adaptability Trials (Group 1) in Outdoor Arenas 1+212pm - Buffet Lunch for competitors2-5pm - Adaptability Trials (Group 2) in Outdoor Arenas 1+27pm - Camp dinner around Fire Pits in the Covered Arena, Day 3Minimum: 7*c Maximum: 11*cThe wind overnight eased in the morning but has left some damage in its wake. Plenty of downed branches and limbs are expected around the property, with the chances of fallen trees in the National Park at the back of the Property. Clouds are still heavy and low over the land and will get darker as the day continues. Higher elevations will enter the cloud cover and visibility will be very poor up in the hills. The Rain will come back in through the late morning and set in for a steady heavy rain until the mid afternoon when it will slowly lighten off before clearing completely by midnight. Lots of mud and standing water is expected with minor flood warnings for the area so creeks and water sources will be very full and fast flowing compared to normal. 10am - Clancy's Ride Start12pm - Buffet Lunch for competitors4pm - Clancy's Ride Deadline7pm - Camp dinner around Fire Pits in the Covered Arena, Day 4Minimum: 3*c Maximum: 9*cThe clouds remain for the morning, but the rain has stopped. The wind will pick up slightly again and thankfully will bring some signs of relief as the clouds start to break up around midday, and patchy blue sky and shafts of sunshine emerge for the afternoon classes with the chances of occasional rainbows. The wind is not expected to be particularly strong down at the property but the clouds will be racing past above. Should make for an absolutely stunning sunset over the ocean with plenty of colour overhead during the prizegiving.9am-12pm - Refinement Trial (Flatwork) in Outdoor Arenas 1+21-4pm- Refinement Trial (Jumping) in Outdoor Arenas 1+2, Free Jumping held in Covered Arena5 pm - Awards Ceremony7 pm - Farewell Bonfire + Mixer for competitors Near the Training Barn., Activity SignupThis thread is entirely voluntary and is designed to help members find collab partners or characters that are available to feature in their entries. Heavily blurred images, or heavily obscured characters, or characters that are tiny in a large background may be rejected if it is unclear which horse is being depicted. If in doubt please check with us first., Judging RubricThe rubric is designed to balance a range of elements that can make an amazing entry. We recommend people make entries that make them happy to work on them or provide inspiration as we do not expect anyone to max out all sections. focus on the parts that you enjoy creating art of. i.e. you might go for low accuracy to class rules and show misbehaviour or interactions that could score better in personality and narrative section, or try a new technique that is not your usual and is slightly less detailed or rough looking but can score super well in the creativity section. Just have fun and enjoy yourself and create something you feel proud of!/30 - Effort Gallery standard (15), Complexity (15)We use this section to balance the level of refinement/detail in image rendering compared to the average gallery image. Lower scores will be given to images that are unfinished, or lack details or depth in the image when compared to other images done. Mid level scores will be for images that are lower level of standard and fit with quick images, or images that are less polished or detailed. High scores will be for images that meet the general gallery standard and show no detail missing. Maximum scores are only given to those that exceed gallery standard regarding effort level. This can include new techniques or complicated compositions./30 - Accuracy Weather (5), Location (10), Class Accuracy (10), Presentation (5)This section is where we judge how well the entry meets the general and class specific rules, as well as meeting the provided event/class information. All entries start with full scores in this section and points are removed for each inaccuracy. i.e. are the correct movements being shown, is there misbehaviour, is the background fitting the location/weather, do you use the right arena surface or edging, have you drawn the correct tack/outfit, is the AW brand visible on the correct side./30 - CreativityComposition (10), Atmosphere (10), Technique (10)Here we look to reward people who push their limits and try new things in order to tell a story and create an image that looks visually unique/interesting. This can be from using a different medium, trying a composition they have not attempted before, using a different colour scheme, using a new style or a new pose if they normally stick to similar posing, and not tracing or using references if they normally use those. People who do not often do animation, comics, or traditional media but attempt it can score big in this section even if the result is not something they would normally be pleased with. Lower scores are given to images that are heavily referenced or traced, and those that have little depth or are entirely flat with only side on views depicted. Higher scores will have creative use of the chosen medium, technique, composition, colour or lighting control. /30 - PersonalityExpression (10), Interaction (10), Narrative (10)This is where we look at how well the image tells a story and captures a dynamic and interesting moment for the characters. We look to see if it feels like a frozen frame in a greater narrative. Do the characters show an emotion/expression. Are they interacting with each other. Are they reacting to something happening around them. This can be hard but we are wanting to reward people drawing characters that are doing more than posing on the same canvas. Low scores will be given to characters that show no expression or narrative in the image. Mid scores given to characters that look focused on their work with no other narrative in the image. High scores will be given to characters that show clear personality and interaction, or capture a moment that is clearly part of an extended narrative. Bonus Points+5 for creating a full body Extra image of your horse and/or rider taking part in a non class activity at the event (this image can be reused for different characters included and/or classes).+5 for including another member's horse or rider in your entry OR bonus image (stacks twice for 10 points maximum as long as the character belong to different people).
