It's made of air dry clay and painted with acrylics.

Err... Actually, I don't know which is which. Does it have the "Γ±" or just an "n?" I looked up "pinata" on Wikipedia and I got "piΓ±ata." :S

There must be a difference since this looks like a statue and not something to throw a stick at (literally).

The squiggly is just an accent. That's what gives it the "Nyuh" sound, if I'm not mistaken. But they will mean the same thing to anyone. One is just more grammatically correct.
