Description
This is my entry to the "Snow" contest over atSnow is a very fun experience when a child, so I began to think about how young Link and Saria, two best friends living in the magical Kokiri forest, would experience snow. Being in a magical forest populated by fairies, it seemed natural to me that there would be special snow fairies that would come along and spread snowflake trails.
But they are very secretive faes and usually only come out when the Kokiri are sleeping. Link, ever the curious Hylian, persuades Saria to stay up and hide with him, waiting for their appearance. They aren't disappointed. Soon the area fills with thousands of the white balls of light, all dancing through the tall trees of the forest.
But Link has forgotten one crucial detail... Faries love bells

Argh, this took so long, I had to rush it at the end. Best bit is probably the Holly, that came out very well. I tried using my colour wheel this time and I think it helped in some areas - especially before I was rushing
Ooh and look Mistltoe symbolism of young, innocent love!

Have you tried, yet?
I think the Kokiri would love the snow, which is why I'm sending the Hero of Leaves, Joshua Treehopper, of my book, Heart of Hyrule, to Arorindu, a place I made up full of wintry mountains, stout Dwarves, and the Arori. Unfortunately, I haven't made it that far in actually writing my book... I'm working on it, though. ^_^

Yeah I just managed to get it in, I was given some special le-way due to dissertation considerations! lol
Yeah I like the green I used on Link, should have done it on Saria too... oh well. Heh, the snow was a pain, I think the nib of my tablet pen suffered from all the stippling!

No, the background came last, hence the lack of detail and definition as I kinda just dived in and painted it. It didn't come out too bad though, but it did give me practice in painting without line art, something I eventually want to move on to.
I actually started of with the Holly first and then ended up covering all its cool little details with snow *sigh*
