Hulk Llama
Emo Llama
Robo Llama (or robot llama)

What You Can Give/Get:

  • You can also buy these accessories for your llama badge:Sunglasses and abowtie
    • Llamas can wear one or both of these accessories.
    • The accessories are removable.
  • The number of llamas you can receive caps out at 100,000. If someone receives 100K it will say "Already gave a llama" in their give menu and you won't be able to click it. This shows regardless if you've given them a llama before the maxed out on llamas.
  • You can give an infinite amount of llamas.

Facts About dA's Interface Involving Llamas:
  • You can display any llama level that you've unlocked. To change your displayed llama go to your badges page and click the level you want. To change back to your highest level llama click "(unlock from this)" next to the llama level you picked.
  • If a deviant has no llamas, then a "potential llama" will be shown on their badges page.
  • If you hover over someone else's llama on their profile it'll say "Llama Level: Llamas are awesome! (number of llamas received)"
  • There used to be an option to put your mood on journals along with the remaining eating, watching, etc. To add your mood you would pick from a list of emoticons.  was one of them!
    • If you hover over the above emoticon then it'll say "Llama...an important part of life"
  • On the HOME tab of your profile, when editing the About Username section you have to check a box that says "Show My Badges" for your badges to be visible there.
  • The count for your badges in the ABOUT tab of your profile rounds up your badge count. This only applies to badges that have more then x1 next to them. The only way to see the accurate number of is to click it to view the page for that badge.
  • The new loading page looks like this and focuses on a llama badge.
  • The total badge amount on the top of your badge section in your ABOUT tab shows the wrong amount. It looks like this.
  • The new error 404 page (AKA page not found) has a space llama floating in it. It looks like this.
Glitches:

Miscellaneous Facts:

  • Llama badges were first introduced to the site on April 1st, 2010 as an April Fool's joke. They stuck around due to their popularity.
  • I have figured out that new users are often getting llamas from users who have given out 100,000 or more. New users have a short list to sort through, and sometimes I find several who have given llamas to the same new user.
  • If you block someone before giving them a llama, then you will be unable to give them a llama unless you remove the block.
  • dAhub used to allow users to buy llamas at 3.75 llamas per point at donations of 100 points or more. 3 llamas per point could be purchased at donations of 20 to 99 points. This allowed for a huge discount for those who worked towards 100,000 llamas. You used to be able to buy llamas for a group as well. This made it a lot easier to reach llama goals for a group, while also getting it a promotion.
    • dAhub has ceased all point services. Please refrain from donating any more points to him.

dA's Official Announcements About Llamas:

You can give llamas to these unorthodox "accounts":

You need the One Click Llama Button  to give llamas to these usernames. These accounts do not have traditional profiles. Some don't exist or redirect elsewhere. These "users" will not receive your llama, but it does show up in your badge activity like normal.

You can also give a llama badge to llama and LlamaBadges !!!

I found the user IDs and llama levels of some of the unorthodox accounts. Click here to learn more.
makeagroup has a llama stats page!

You can give llamas to deactivated accounts as well:There is one way. If you have access to an unedited comment that is.
If a deactivated account doesn't appear struck out in a comment, you can use the One Click Llama Button  to give them a llama.
Technically that account won't receive it, but it shows up in your badge activity like normal.
You can try it with talkbot on this comment. Then check your badge activity. Click here then click on your llama if you have made it visible.

Deleted groups can get llamas too:If you find a username that was once a group then it can receive llamas using the One Click Llama Button .
An example is a group I made (but then deleted) called the-gameplz . Here is proof that it was once a group.

You should still be able to buy them for yourself. I was able to, but that was many years ago.

Thank you.
I had enough points for the shades.
I don't know if our points will crossover to Eclipse, or if we'll be able to do points for llamas.
So I wanted to use the few I had gotten in case they don't transfer.
[If they do transfer & we can still do the trades I'm going to try to save up for cake or a pelican badge.]

I have seen many lists here on DA, for example, top 100-200 deviants etc.
How about making a journal about all the users who have reach 100k llamas? is it possible? are there so many who archived it? This would be interesting...

The journal you speak of has it's own section and is linked at the very bottom of this journal

The group Badges-of-DeviantART keeps a comprehensive list of all badges ever issued, as well as how to get the ones still available, so I definitely recommend giving them a look to see if there's anything else you might want. Last year's pride badge, however, is given for commenting on this journal, and answering three prompts (just like this years')!

Like the many flags we fly to represent who we are, Pride Month is about celebrating the strength of our plurality, the many identities that complete us and make all of us great, and how they come together to build our common humanity.
Occurring in the same month as the Stonewall Riots (on June 28, 1969) where people were beaten simply for being who they are, Pride Month is meant to be a celebration of coming together in light of this violent beginning. This year, DeviantArt is proud to honor deviants of all identities who, over the years, have helped build us into an ever-more inclusive community where we can just be.
Be who we are, without fear.
Be different, even if we can't always be in real life.
Be ourselves, celebrated and supported

What does a Llama mean, stand for?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

cheriibat In reply to Hiddenbehindcolour [2019-06-04 06:54:56 +0000 UTC]

Llamas really don't have a meaning. They are just something you can collect and when you get more, they will change their look.

@/CoolKaius made some more explanations about them, if you would like to check them out:
Improved Llama Badge FAQ1. What is a llama badge?
A llama badge is merely decoration for your profile. You can give them to other users without losing the ones you've received.
2. What do I use it for?
Llamas are mostly considered a pointless game for fun, but giving them can help you get pageviews.
3. How many llamas can I give out?
You can give an infinite number of llamas, but if you give them to quickly you will trip a spam filter. Once it hits you have to wait an hour. This is to prevent llama giving from straining DeviantArt's servers. You can only give one llama to each person and each person can only give one llama to you. You cannot lose llamas.
4. How do I give someone a llama?
There is a give button on the upper right hand corner of every user's profile. When you click it, you'll see the "Give A Llama" option. After clicking that, a window will open where you can confirm your intent to give a llama.

I have a glitch I guess: My llama is like Pikachu- it don't want evolve- BUT today I can say, why accept this:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

cheriibat In reply to kmyc89 [2019-05-22 17:13:34 +0000 UTC]

You are not having a glitch. You just locked the normal Llama and that's the reason, why it won't change.

www.deviantart.com/kmyc89/badg…

Your normal Llama should say "Llama (Unlock from this)". When you click on the normal "Unlock from this", you basically unlock it and you see the current Llama type, you have with your stats. If you like for example the Golden Llama the best, by clicking on "Golden Llama", it will be locked and this is the Llama you are going to see in your stats and top right. Hope this helps. ✌
