This is how I sometimes feel when I write about Fal or "see" him in roleplays: he IS caring, but he also has something creepy...something which cannot be controlled. He grants the smeet freedom, but at the same time he dedicates them to his plans, his purposes.
I do not expect you to know this much, but this picture pretty much shows how he deals with his children: He lets them look around more freely than the Empire does, he lets them have own opinions. But he lets them be very dependant to him. He holds them to save them, but if they would decide to get away from him, they'd had no chance.
Wonderful picture...and really much more in-character than the first one!

I'm really happy that it turned out so well, and that I got something so 'him' across in it. He is very interesting. He's granting the smeets freedom, just under his own terms.

Exactly! I think he is a highly interesting character as well...
Haha, I worked a little on Fal, but most details come from DefectiveFal and with Peyne the opposite is the case!

oooh, and I get what you mean. I know for my own characters, I find more out about them, while working on someone else.

And if it's only roleplaying, yes. I figured it is hard to me to develop a chracter of Peyne's depth all alone; I need some kind of basis I can work on.

*nods* roleplaying is an awesome way of getting ideas I've found.
