Description This is a digital diagram I've been being lazy about for a year, and only finally just finished it. It is a cross section of the Great Spirit Robot's head after it crashed. Most bionicle fans should be able to recognize most of what's going on, as this is just a visual aide to sort established locations. I only directly notated confusing or abstract areas.

It was actually very interesting and convenient for drawing as it seemed careful planning by the guys at Lego/Bionicle made nearly everything fall into place. I have come up with my own filler for beyond what was visually depicted, though. A second disclaimer is that Metru Nui is not to scale. I like to believe that Lightstones are a byproduct of the camouflage program.

In the future I would like to do another of these to show how Voya Nui, Mahri Nui, Karda Nui, and the center of the GSR relate.

See how many places you recognize!

I imagine something that big has it's own gravity maybe.

It was more fun to try to sneak in as many recognizable locations as I could, but now looking back on this I wish I tried to show Ga-Koro lol :b

so if Mata Nui Β is litteraly Β above Metru nui how did the Matoran travel to and from those two countriesΒ

so um if he stood up then metru nui would be in disaster unless it corrects its position and becomed leveled again

A lot of people have wondered about that in the past. I figure with as complex a robot as Mata Nui is, and that if there was gravity inside the Matoran Universe when he was freely traveling through space, the inside must have some form of gravity generator. He pulled in the planets at the 'end' of the story with gravity with the prototype robot as well.

Is that the city of Metru Nui in the head?

Yes, it's not quite to scale though since I needed to englarge it for detail. It's about the size of a major nation capitol.

That is so legit. The accuracy, the amount of planning and work it probably took to put this together...I am amazed sir, simply amazed. Very well done.

And to think the Lego company had this already planned and kept it hidden in a subtle manner until a few years later, not that I'm complaining.

I have been a fan of Bionicle since 2007, and this picture you’ve made is just stunningly accurate, to say the VERY LEAST. I all use this for my own project, when the time comes.

Them living inside the robot body was planned from the start, yes, but all the things with the domes, and the number of domes and islands, and what islands were inside, was not a thing until a little later into the line, even for the story team.

this actually works to a degree, metru nui isnt shown on the maps so this actually explains in, but the island is a bit small in comparison to mata nui, but over all it still works

Metru Nui is astronomically smaller than Mata Nui in the canon actually. See this for comparisonΒ biomediaproject.com/bmp/wp-con…

Linkmaster101 [2017-10-13 07:05:33 +0000 UTC]

ok so today is basically the day i learned the islands aside from a few were actually INSIDE mata nui's huge robot form and until now i didnt even know as i had only had comics and movies XD and aparently i missed the issues that explained the universe was inside the dang robot. how does it all turn if it stands up tho? gravity devices or the insides of the domes rotate?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

luka1184 In reply to Linkmaster101 [2018-02-27 18:46:27 +0000 UTC]

I always thought that the stuff inside the domes were fixed a certain way, and that the artificial gravity always held them in that place, working in one direction. Like if all the islands and seas were sideways (unless the robot lie down) - that is sideways from a human perspective seeing it lie down like this - then the gravity pushes everything "backwards", if that make sense... What I mean is that the artificial gravity is able to keep it the way it is, whatever way that may be.

Makes me wonder what would happen if the Onu-Matoran dug too far and hit the Core Processor.

Also, I love how Mata Nui's eyes happened to be the holes in the ceiling that was the suns in Metru Nui.

Its kinda strange. Β You ever wonder how gravity stayed the same in the city when Mata Nui stood upright?

Llortor In reply to Xelku9 [2016-10-13 18:35:13 +0000 UTC]

I figure if the world of Bionicle within the Great Spirit Robot had a fundamental connection with gravity as an element, there may be some form of gravitationally aligned property to the metal beneath the domes

Woah! Really awesome

Can i ask you, have you based it on orginal BIONICLE informations, or you imagined how it could look like? Well i truthly wanted to write a story, but i really want it to be "Possible" in its universe. So i can not just say "IT HAPPENED", when it just could not. By saying possible, i mean more likelly, that there was a possibility that event (My story) could happen. But if community knows what happened really story's beauty begins to burn down. I would like to keep its beauty (If i will write it. I started project but story is nothing right now. I am waiting for people's cool Makuta MOC's).

I'd say the reason why I make these diagram artworks is to try to prove that these concepts are possible, all based on what I know for fact about the story and the sets

I see the Rama hive, the Nui Jaga cave, the great mine... the only thing that I don't recognize is the green thing projecting that beam out of his nose, though I see it is connected to the Red Star and may be what attracted the Toa canisters to the island when Takua completed the ritual. Also, good work managing to cram the Bohrok's Nest and Makuta's layer together and connect all these pathways in a sensible way. It's kinda crazy to see how much stuff happened in Mata Nui's head. Now I'm just imagining Gali looking out of one of the the big guy's nostrils after he stood up straight and thinking "Holy shit."

Llortor In reply to NickOnPlanetRipple [2017-01-13 08:51:02 +0000 UTC]

The green line is the Great Telescope tracking the Red Star, I should have labeled it lol
Yeah when I was making it and compiling all the information I could glean from the MNOG and stories involving these locations (like some kind of freakin FBI investigator) I was pretty surprised too at how many of these subterranean temple passageways were located within the metal of the Great Spirit Robot. I can easily understand how living inside something so huge and truly massive can easily be taken for granted and mysticized.

πŸ‘: 1 ⏩: 1

NickOnPlanetRipple In reply to Llortor [2017-01-14 18:02:19 +0000 UTC]

Ah, okay. I should've guessed. It was just seeing the thing go so deep inside his head that threw me off, though really, that should'nt've surprised me at all. I imagine when the Bohrok were "cleaning" the island, they destroyed the rocks around the telescope's base and it retracted inside his body on a giant piston or something.

πŸ‘: 1 ⏩: 1

Llortor In reply to NickOnPlanetRipple [2017-01-14 21:23:33 +0000 UTC]

Yep, I bet that was a primary reason why the Bohrok existed in the first place, to free the Telescope

So Metru Nui was inside Mata Nui's head? Explains the confusing bit of the offical map. But how did the matoran get up to Mata Nui, when there's nothing that indicates that the toa Metru had to take the matoran from Metru to Mata Nui underwater
