I couldn't pass this up, a sort of light mod to my original rebuild of Onua Mata here:

Wielding a Gravity Hammer with an engine that increases its localized mass into that resembling a fallen star, Onua Nuva on the reformed planet of Spherus Magna and his Adaptive Armor have taken on a unique appearance -- sort of between his Nuva and Mata forms.

Now you may ask why he's so similar to his G2 form. I may as well spill the beans on my COMPLETELY SPECULATIVE idea of how G2 relates to G1. Allow me to tell a short story...

"Not long after Spherus Magna was restored and Teridax was defeated, Turaga Vakama had to procure an old and too powerful mask. It was the Mask of Time, and when he found it he discovered to his horror that a small trace of Teridax's Antidermis laid inside the mask. It was a last resort when the Makuta knew that his time as a god was over.

There was no way for Vakama to wrest the last scrap of Teridax's soul from the legendary Kanohi, so he once and for all made the decision to break the Mask of Time.

This did not destroy our universe, no, this action merely triggered the creation of a parallel dimension that existed in tandem with ours -- created with the spirit of Teridax floating through since the beginning. The inhabitants of this universe lived for aeons in preparation for the rise of the ultimate Makuta, making Masks of Elemental Power as per a prophecy of six heroes destined to defeat that great evil over and over.

Teridax's ghostly Antidermis form, rendered incapable of dissipating in this universe born through him, eventually gained the attention of a failing Mask Maker in his own despotic spirit. Teridax convinced this humble 'Makuta' into creating a mask with enough power that it could channel his full power into a physical body.

Makuta created this mask with the hopes of it being the greatest mask of all time, finally sealing his talent and glory as a Mask Maker. Donning the completed mask, Teridax instantly assumed control and began ravaging the island of Okoto through Makuta's now-enhanced body remeniscent of his old form.

Ekimu, the brother of Makuta, came to his aid and managed to knock the Mask of Ultimate Power containing Teridax's essence from Makuta's face and sent both brothers into coma-like states while the three legendary masks of this universe were lost.

Of course, Teridax is never one to give up. The mask he was contained within still had enough power that he could exact a certain influence, growing armies of kraata-like spiders and raising the dead warriors of the ancient past.

The Protectors of Okoto called upon the power of their prophecy of the six heroes destined to defeat Teridax time after time, and from our universe the Toa Nuva were pulled and shot into the realm of Okoto -- stripping them of their elemental energy and memories.

Like the Turaga of Mata Nui, the Protectors of Okoto would guide the Toa to the Masks of Elemental Power that would restore their basic abilities and more. It would merely be up to the Toa to get over their differences again and achieve their Destiny."

I also got the idea for this character of Onua and his hammer like a few months before Bionicle 2015 was announced My close friends knew I called it on the hammer.
