iv submitted this drawing before but first time around it had a slight sepia tone to it and i have finally re-scanned it to have an image more close to the original drawing.here is the first - [link]
let me know what you think of this one, both on its own, and in comparison to the last version

hey thanks, my first critique too
i agree with the comment about charcoal, i love the contrast you get with it, however i dont own any charcoal pencils, only pastels, which are quite chunky and clumsy and i like working mainly in detail, hence why the majority of my work is in pencil.

you're welcome, that was my first time writing a critique. yes you do lose detail when working with charcoal- with pencil you have the freedom to do more. i just finished a self-portrait in charcoal ("Last Judgement"). check it out in my gallery.
