Watercolour & Ink on Cold Press

Well.. As promised in my journal I am trying some landscapes in watercolour. I have always done portrait work, so Landscapes are new to me... in fact this is my first ever watercolour landscape.

Its funny how you style changes. With portraits I had developed a fairly loose style (as per fav.me/d5mb74b ), but I found when painting this that I reverted to a pretty tight painting style.. and I'm not sure I like it, so my challenge is to loosen up with my watercolour landscapes.

I have been following the works of John Lovett (www.johnlovett.com) and Alvaro Castagnet (www.alvarocastagnet.net/) two watercolourists that I admire. This is in the Lovett style as best as I can manage at this stage. I will be trying to perfect this over the next 12 months or so. In the meantime I will have to go back to portraits now and then to preserve my sanity (or is that ego?).

Any help, pointers, criticisms, comments or otherwise are very welcome... this is new territory for me.
