Description
This is Kanika Khepri (Meaning Black morning Sun) She's A Scarab Beetle from Sand Ocean. She is to show up in Counting Sheep and play a very large roll (Though i wont say what) Al her weapons are traditional Egyptian weapons except for the ankh which isn't normally used as a weapon (She has reason to be carrying it though)
My Goodness this took a long time! I was inspired by :iconpurityfl:'s extremely nice SA stile backgrounds. The line art took a very long time to finish, as I had to change with line thickness a lot. I'm rather happy with the turn out! May make a Loa one next!
Also, if you want to commission me for something like this it's going to cost more then the SA stile I was doing before as it takes much longer to make. I will still, do old stile if you want it though.

I have to say, even though the character is very detailed and slighly overloaded, it doesn't look wrong.
The clothes and decorations look quite Egyptian. Maybe it'd look nice without the bandages, but not sure about that.
I personally probably wouldn't give a bug four arms (after all, Charmy has only two, too), but it's ok though, especially since they all apparently serve some purpose.
I really like the colors and how they look together, balanced quite well. Doesn't need anything more or less.
Just one thing that is bothering me... I don't think these spikes on the arms and legs would be necessary....
Also, you should think about what she'd look like when she doesn't spread her wings to fly.

She's a vagabond so I added the bandages to keep the sand out of her mouth, also to fit with the glove theme. She has a sort of Ceremonial thing about her, so I really decked her out.
I give all my bug character the same amount of arms as the animal, I know it is not correct to the games, but my personal preference is that they have more arms.
Some species of Scarab have spines on there limbs, most classic black scarab I've seen do.
And I have drawn her with her wings shut, so that is not of my worries.

Very nice design. The only real problem I can see design-wise is that she doesn't have any place to put all the things she's holding. Other than that- great!

Ya I have a tablet, that's why gimp works well for me.
Well, with all my other projects, slow. I have it sketched I just need to finish lining and shading it. But I'm being lazy.
