I knew they would get around to a woman Doctor sometime soon. Haven't seen any episodes as I stopped watching after the fifth Doctor.

Came across Doctor Who by accident when I was over at my parent's place for dinner one Wednesday evening. The local public television station was showing the show on that night every week. That was how I found out about it and Tom Baker when he regenerated as the 4th Doctor. Even got my father hooked on the series.

I liked the older series because the Property Department had to make do with whatever was handy to create either the scene or the creatures. With BBC bringing back the show after a hiatus, they now have the budget to get things done a little better.
It's kind of like the original 'Star Trek' series where the pieces of 'equipment' on the hallway ways were painted Styrofoam packing pieces. Or you have two guys behind the walls to slide the sliding doors open.

Loved the old style of TARDIS interiors as you know they were cheaply made but still functional.
