Hello! I'm an IB Art student and I have to do some research about self portraits.
One of my questions for you is, why did you make a self portrait?

to test my skills! it's hard to draw yourself, especially from life, and revisiting the self-portrait concept every now and then creates a sort of benchmark for how much my skills have developed.

I remember finding this picture a long time ago. I never got the source or anything, and it just came back up in my documents. I'm so glad I found this again, your art work inspires me so much. I wish I could have atleast half the art skill you do.. Keep up the good work!

I do like that even though the picture is not strictly speaking photo-realistic, it seems to capture the model's (your) character and I guess could be described as "emotionally realist". Great work!

This is really good self potrait, it feel that you really know how to draw people and have your own sense of style of doing it, also it seems that this kind of stuff come easy to you.

i use a cintiq 24hd and a computer put together from scratch! not at the time of this drawing, though - at that time i used a dell xps m1530 laptop and an intuos2.

I've been a member for about six years and I have looked at perhaps thousands of art works but this particular portrait remains my favorite. I don't leave many comments but I thought you would like to know. I keep this one at the top of my favorites collection.
