Description
The other night I had the weirdest dream about this baby in the desert who stole the eye of a lizard, and as it grew up (without the aid of any people) became a curious killing machine. The child would kill birds and other sad little animals that strayed too close, and use a strange and unique power to animate their bodies, meshing them with metal and wire so as they would last longer than their organic bodies could handle.Eventually some humans wandered by, and he deduced that despite the fact that they were bigger and made strange noises with their mouths, they would die just as easily as the birds and lizards. So he killed them and played.
I named him Jinki. 8| Short for Jikininki. Say that out loud, I dare you.
I've been playing with the coloring style sported by the awesomely talented *vert-is-ninja from her coloring tutorial. It's really a fun style, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Her comics got me hooked.
OMG SCI-FI, WTF?! Fuck those crows. >_>;;;;

This is actually still my favorite piece too! It was definitely a piece that made me look at my work differently, and made me love drawing again. I also am very fond of the character, I should take some time to draw them more.

is it a girl or a boy? cuz everybody in the comments refer to it as 'she' but you say you named him 'jinki'... seems more like a girl though, or perhaps everybody in the future ends up looking like Bill from Tokio Hotel

Jinki is my little boy, but he's not really a boy. Whatever he is, his race has no gender, I just prefer to use the male pronoun. I like either way to be honest! She can be very cute, or he can be very dashing. IMHO. Haha. 8)

This is really awesome! I love the way you did this, I feel like you took the way I color and made it yours and SO MUCH BETTER! Congrats!! I love the way you did the hair and the face so much, but all of it rocks.

Oh gosh, no, never better than yours, I love how you incorporate the WAY you draw int the way you color, it's just very smooth and everything suits everything else. But it was really a lot of fun to try out, it makes a lot of sense to me. Haha, don't be so hard on yourself for it either, those gradients can be fickle!

I LOOOOOOVE me some flowy lines, just can't help it. I'm happy to hear it flows well , the picture that is, backgrounds are a BITCH to me, so this was something new and interesting to try.
