Depends. I keep my baby boy in a puppy cut. It's easier to maintain and brush out. Take a look at the pictures of my boy not a top knot in sight. I find top knots silly looking! I would NEVER subject my boy to a ridiculous top knot nor would I ever allow his fur to go to his feet! It's a puppy cut all the way! Easy to brush out and keep knot free!

Oh I know some people keep them that way, certainly seems like the way to go to me! But considering it was at a dog show, I've never seen a shih tzu shown in a puppy cut.

aww, very cute! And I can see the similarity, but this dog looks like a Japanese Chin. It doesn't look like a shih tzu you would see at a dog show, with a top knot and longer fur.

Maybe it's just me then...every dog I see when I'm not home reminds me of my babies Dear god they have toys everywhere! I just got through cleaning out Jewel's crate and every toy she had in there was PINK! It's a wonder she had any room to stretch her back feet out! I pulled out eight toys,three pink toys, an orange monkey,a tiger,a bunny,a yellow dog AND a light blue lamb. I'm surprised she didn't have Mr.Elephant in there. Oh I should make introductions: When I first bought Jewel last year, I bought her a teething ring for when she started teething,an Elephant aptly named Mr.Elephant and a Harley Davidson Toy that revvs when you squeeze it. She used to go MAD over it,digging at it with her front paws like there was no tomorrow followed by ten minutes of barking. Now if she wants up,she won't leave either my lap if my husband's not home or if he is, she won't leave his lap. We think she's gonna have babies sometime before the year is over. She's acting like it.

lol, I know right? The lighting was awful for most of it, but it was in this big old indoor horse arena, with some tiny windows up top, and later in the afternoon right when the toy group was showing the sun was in just the right position in the sky to come through the windows. And after that it just got worse >_>;
