Description
So, we had to do some work in 2D class, whereby we had to explore tone and stuff by drawing (adding stuff, playing with shadows and everything) using an image. I kinda of gave up using my own images (because I maintain they simply weren't right) and did this instead. xD The image had to be done in black and white, so yeah.

Second time looking at this - I just noticed that they're both 'dribbling'; she's crying and the skull's bleeding, or that's what it appears from here.
I think I like everything about this but for the poppy field in the background. It's just so grainy in comparison to the sky. Looks incohesive to me. A thing I often find I don't like about photomanipulations - when I see ones I don't like - is differing levels of detail on the same parts of the image. The sky and the field are both the background, but the sky is more detailed than the field. Whereas in the focus of the picture we have the skull and the person, both more detailed than the sky, and, as far as I can tell, having similar amounts of detail to each other. So /that/ looks right for me. I'm not sure where this taste comes from and I may be utterly alone in it, but still, it's what I don't like about it. =3
Otherwise, like it. ^^ Nice light. Very atmospheric. It seems like, even with the bandage, the person knows the skull is there. And... thinking about it, maybe Death is blind, too? Empty eye sockets there, right?

Oh, I see what you mean. That's probably just because I sharpened the whole piece, and the poppy field, which has a lot of details, sharpened up into something like that.

Nice. I really like it. I think it would be cool if you saw grim reaper hands holding the skull though. Instead if it just floating there.
