After Kuvira's fall Megan used her influence and power in the Earth Empire's Army to help Prince Wu handle the political issues. With Megan as the acting leadership in military and on behalf of the strongest authority in Ba Sing Sei, Prince Wu, the troops left the areas they infiltrated several months ago and got divided into smaller garrisons, serving the different towns and centres all around the Earth Kindom. Not everybody was pleased with these developments of course. Many towns liked the privilegues they had been given under the Earth Empire, others depended on the live supports they got from the Earthen Military so far. And Kuvira's idiology of a united Earth Nation still burned in several fractions and also in the military and commandership itself. Megan found herself caught in the middle, between the side of Avatar and Prince Wu, who were about to regain the Earth Kindoms in his former formation, on the other side the former close supporters of Kuvira waited for her to take action on behalf of the Earthen Empires interest.
She was well aware that the leaders of the other Nations, especially Republic City, did only agree on Korra's suggestion to integrate Megan in the leadership, because she had the necessary bondings and convincibility to reunited the forces of the Earthen Kindom once more. But the more her actions pleased the plans of Prince Wu, Korra and the rest of the world, the less trust she gained from the many parties in Ba Sing Sei. The ideals seem to part slowly but steady even further, and the new , yet young leader prince Wu lost the trust of important acteurs in his political issues, that were supposed to reasure an again save and peaceful Earth Kindom. Former parties and supporter of Kuvira recoverd from their defeat as well. For some Megan was a traitor, others still believed she was loyal to here imprisoned instructor and believed in her.

One day at the congress the several landlords summed up all the concerns and problems that the political decisions of Wu and Megan couldn't solve. The former commandeurs found a chance to cause a scene and tried to convert as much diverent countries on their sides, and against the leadership of Prince Wu and the other Nations interests. It was the moment when Megan made a fateful decision. She announced sanctions that bounded the countries economically and militarly to Ba Sing Sei again, and promised the landlords their issues to be solved with it. Overlooking Prince Wu's objections, she set actions immediatly and on the next day the Earthen Kindom woke up with military troops on its streets again.

Not much suprising, Megan was invited to an audience with the royal heir immedietly to explain her decisions and take responsibility for it. They ended up discussing the future of the Earth Kindom and ended with controversial opinions. Prince Wu wanted her to retreat out of all political positions, but instead of doing so, Megan had far other plans. When she opened the gates to step out of the throne room, she revealed the sad truth to him, that his powerment was already weakend so much, and the side of the revolutionists became far bigger than he expected. The commandeurs who were left from Kuvira's reign, stepped in after Meg opened the doors for them and took Prince Wu under arrest. The leadership of Ba Sing Sei fell into Megan's hands, entrusted by the commadeurs of the Earthen Military. Before the other Nations or even the Avatar could take any actions, Ba Sing Sei - the Earth Kindoms Capital - was occupied again.

After hard time of civil war inside Ba Sing Sei, victory was on the side of the Avatar. Korra hesitated and let Megan flee out of the city this one time, deeply hurted but still remembering the friendship they once shared. While Ba Sing Sei was recovering from its coup, Megan started to live an outlaws life, still wanted all over the Earth Nationa as public enemy.
