This caught my eye because it's not as abstract. You formed something. Plus, I don't know what homestuck is, so it all seems the same to me.

To my knowledge there are fractal brushes for PS that you can get somewhere

But I didn't use them; I used actual fractals
Because I can do that

WELL me being me I have a huge amount of fractals saved onto my flash drive in different shapes made from different types of equations

I found the ones made from the same kind of equations, changed the actual equations sometimes to get a greater variety of shapes, then abused the warp and transform tools in photoshop to put them together

Then I colored them all black and scribbled black in the background to make sure that it wasn't all filled with holes and stuff

That's it
