Or at least, my favorite that we have here in Texas. My overall favorite is Ornithoptera alexandrae, which I hope I get to see in person someday. <3

But this is the Buckeye butterfly, Junonia coenia. It's another member of the Nymphalidae family, meaning it has two main pairs of fully functional legs and one pair of reduced brushfeet.

This was taken in the Ruby N. Priddy Butterfly and Nature Conservatory at River Bend Nature Center .
