I lied, I definitely made a mermaid AU. It's mainly about Jason and his weird new mermaid friend Piper, but Percy is a mermaid too and he gets to hear a lot about Jason from Piper. This is when he and Jason first meet, and Percy's all "Hey I know exactly who you are. Piper told me everything. everything." and Jason is more: "I have no idea who you are but I am afraid."
Percy's main plot happens to cycle around finding this girl he had met on the beach years prior. And of course everything is connected, and Jason just so happens to know this girl, and it just so happens she's in town again anyway.
