The magic aura really seems to get me. I don't know what...something mesmerizing about it.

Well, you've done it well, working with the 'magic' of painting, amirite?

I guess to some extent, yeah! XD it's certainly not perfect, but that means there's always improvement happening.

Oh man this looks so pretty! Watercolors always have such a nice charm to them when it comes to shading and vibrancy of color. And of course Luna is best Princess.

Thank youuu! I particularly like the softness you can get with watercolour and you're always in control of how deep you want the colours too. And yes, Luna makes it all better xD

Don't know how you even stood the pressure of ruining everything with only one unfortunate stroke! xD I love ctrl z or at least a goddamn physical eraser! xD
But I guess you were the right one for this tricky task! ;D Great work!

Yeah, and one of the coolest things about watercolours (in my never-to-be-humble opinion, anyway) is that they kind of tend to do their own thing, almost like they have a mind of their own. There's no predicting exactly how they're going to turn out (the Uncertainty Principle in art? True!) I once had an art-teacher who expressed it this way: He called watercolours "inviting the colours onto the paper, where they can all play together."

That's pretty much my experience with it so far xD I was so scared of watercolours because I couldn't control it, and after playing with it, I realized its part of what makes it so enjoyable.

Amazing! I hate watercolors, they're so hard, so why am I not surprised that your first one is amazing...

Ahhh thank you Oddish!! I used to dislike then too. Also because it was hard but it can be fun when you're not fully in control!

I have the same thing with ponies! Whenever I just want to tool around, I always end up doodling a pony, heh.
I didn't used to like watercolors, but in the last few months they've been growing on me as an aesthetic. Mostly just when they still have deep color though, such as in this Luna portrait.

I agree, ponies are the one 'form' that is/was really easy for me to visualize compared to others, so they're easy subjects when I just feel like getting something out on the "page". Although, I just spent a year only drawing once or twice a month and now everything is about the same difficulty again it seems... Oops!

wow the way you did this is amazing you even got the lines perfectly strait along the face I can not imagine the pain of doing that. the colors are fabulous the detail is as well. this is 100% great

Thank you for your appreciation!!! It was so hard to manipulate the paint and water but as long as the water was where I wanted it, the paint would follow. It's certainly a fun medium to attempt to control!

fun but but difficult. you've always gotta make sure to mix the right amount of water with it to get that perfectly balance of light and darker colors. oh and NEVER use copy paper..... yeah not a good canvas lol.

Thank you so much! I generally refrain from line art because it's unnatural and without it, things look much softer (:

Yes, do so! Just a tip though. I wouldn't get the water soluble colouring pencils. Though it may seem like you have much more control, it ends up being a waste of time applying colour and then mixing it up with water when you can work it right on. Also, I find you cannot get nicely saturated colours because the pencil can only offer so much. My experiences with them have all been pretty poor. /:
