Description Hi! I'm vcr and I like the original art style of TF2. That means stock weapons, official maps and no cosmetic items. I also like to use fitting lighting and particle effects with colours that belong to the pallette most of the designs for the TF2 world use. Also, all the classes are mercenaries, which means that they kill people for a living. Hence the gruesome action.

Ohwell, I still do things that don't fit that description. Just got kinda interested about that scenebuild/action scene idea when I did my latest tutorial.

11 lights.

I have nothing against the cosmetic items, but sometimes I miss the classic TF2 style as this picture clearly demonstrates.

Awesome job with the lighting! I like how the red lighting overwhelms the blue, enhancing RED's dominating presence over BLU, and it helps add to the overall mood of the picture. That's what I think, but I'm just a big fan of contrasting colors, haha. Keep up the great work!

I'm okay with cosmetic items as long as they don't look completely out of place. They have added so many items to the game since its original release, though, that I wanted to give some credit to the original visual style here.

Thank you for noticing the lighting! It was my goal all along to create strong contrast and enhance the roles of the characters by using differing lights for them. I really appreciate getting thoughtful comments like yours, makes my work feel worthwhile.

I LOVE this piece. and all the detail that it's gone into it.

I adore the background, probably mainly of how the explosion mixes the blue from the skybox into a colorful bunch of shades of pink that go all the way from blue to orange. Also, that Heavy. He's not gonna like the state Shasha is gonna be left in afterwards ( probably turned into ammo LOL ). The colors are well chosen overal for the lighting and the area displayed of the map, everything is brigthas it should be, not too dark, not too bright, and not too saturated, with the exception of the RED hologram, but that makes sense. The volumes of the characters are really well defined thanks to the well chosen lightings

The lighting is gorgeous, From the backliighting provided by the explosion to the ones offscreen. I love how the explosion makes a shilluete around the Medic's model. there's something about the area between it's gloves, and the bonesaw. i just love that. Every single feature of the soldier is well defined as well, and the orangeish coloring given by the explosions makes him evil, specially the few parts of the lighting that get to illuminate that devious, grim, evil smile.

However, i have a copule nitpicks with the lighting. I see you have used mostly white lighting to enhace the volume of the Pyro ( which makes sense so he can stick out from both the explosion and soldier ) And the one in the Medic. As far as i know, That area ( imgkk.com/i/ewv1.png Capture Point B. an area pretty much devoid from direct sun lighting )  seems to have lighting a little too strong for it. Using a more realistic approach wouldn't make both the Medic and the Pyro stand out like they do, though. So your choice is justified.

Lighting and color analyzed, Let's look at the composition:

This is probably where the image excels, besides the lighting. This image screams dynamism every single pixel of it. All Two Millions, Seventy three Thousand and Six Hundred of them. ( probably not the small 64x64 top left corner, but you get the idea )
First, the background, you need not more than a few gibs, explosion debris and bullets to figure out that right now there's WAR happening on that area. The Medic's facial expression tells it all, He's scared for his life, even if he's a mercenary, dropping his Bonesaw after such behemonth as a crazy, demented soldier enters doing his triumphant entrance, killing everything into massive explosions and coming for him. He's ovbiously enjoying it, seeing the blood of his enemies and seeing them explode in lots of tiny bits, however, he's gonna particularily enjoy killing the Medic first hand. That pyro is going to prevent it though , as a matter of personal opinion, i'd not be surprised if the soldier has his shovel ready to hit the Pyro with it before he even attacks ( As seen in Meet the Soldier, he clearly is aware of what's on his back... Except on Meet the Spy. but that was a BLU Solly )

It almost looks like it's on motion, and heck, it is VERY intense. i probably do not see things the way most people would do. but here's my thoughts anyway.

As i said. I absolutely love this. and i find it outstanding in every single aspect

Good Job! Hopefully you keep impressing the world with these posters

Ohyes, solly made it there just on time, blowing up the heavy and stopping the cart. Thanks for mentioning the contrast, I put a lot of effort to that while doing the lighting.

Wow, thank you very much! I'd love to be a pro and do posters for valve. I'm sure I can improve my poses even further, too.

People seem to like these classic things, so I could do more in the future.
