The last picture of my illustration project based on Juliet Marillier's book "Daughter of the Forest".The long awaited kiss between Sorcha and Red. For a while it looked pretty grim, but everything worked out for the best apparently.

I love Sorcha And Red so. But poor little Simon an his lock of hair always got me. Especially When they were both thinking of what could have happened.

Oh yes. It always got me too. Sad thing really, but also the whole point... it wouldn't have been believable if everyone ended up happy.

I just finished this book last night. I myself was wondering, with twenty pages left, if anything was going to happen between them. And then the next page, he stumbled into the house and a huge grin spread on my face.

I like how Juliet Marillier's stories take you by suprise. Originally, I thought Sorcha would end up with Simon because she took care of him in the beginning. I'm glad she ended up with Red because I think he's more selfless than his brother and has more of an equal, deep relationship with Sorcha.
