Description Hi,

There's a ton of contests this month! I figured out a few ideas for them. Body art costumes!

For the art style, I wanted to dabble in the art technique of an Italian comic artist: Andrea Sorrentino (1982- ). Andrea began working in comics professionally for Wildstorm comics before moving to Marvel. He's co-created the popular 'Gideon Fall' for Image Comics and, after moving to Marvel in 2015, the acclaimed 'Old Man Logan.' From what I can see, he really embraces and makes full use of powerful digital art technology. Technology beyond my reach at the moment.

I really gravitated to his arresting images and dynamic compositions. So I tried to test out the very fine line drawing style of Andrea. Not having the pro-level kit he has, I had to improvise - ball point pen to begin with. lol Borrowing from the approach of Andrea's cover for Old Man Logan #2, I felt a bold colour scheme was in order. The cosplay topic? Hmm...well, the ever lovely Elastigirl (from 2004's Incredibles!) seemed in order! I've a soft spot for Elastigirl.

Well, as always, I hope this one legged Velma latex girl amuses more than she offends.

And, as always, many thanks to those who stop by here and leave encouraging words or useful feedback. It's truly appreciated!

Best wishes,

John

This was great fun to work on. I'm going to be looking for excuses to slink up ol' Velma again real soon! lol

Oh, boy, what a starkly beautiful Velma! I am seriously impressed! This is superb with such a bold depiction of the beautiful sleuth. I love the colours and her slinky pose. Good luck with the competition, shipmate! Fair winds and good fortune to you. BTW, another artist for me to check out!

Hi Cap!

Thanks for the kind words. After coming second in the recent school themed contest, I'm determined to stick with these contests. They're such a great source of inspiration! And any excuse to slink up good ol' Velma will be taken in future! This was just too much fun to work on. It took a while, but I feel the effort was worth it. The colours were outside my ordinary colour palette too - so that alone was a good exercise.

Thanks again,Cap, for taking time to comment and like. It's never unappreciated.

Ahoy, shipmate! Congratulations on the result for the last contest. It'll be first, soon, trust me! Yes, this was a decidedly slinky Velma and the colours? Magnificent! Always good to see your art so keep up the great work!
