Story

It was late by the time the trailer arrived at Rosenhill Farms . Sarah was glad to arrive after the long travel as she unloaded Lionheart it was clear to see that the large stallion was eager to take a look around his new surroundings the air was crisp and the sun low in the sky casting its golden light upon Lionheart making his coat glow with even more luminescence, he snorted as he trotted happily beside sarah his breath visible in the cold air. It was clear to see that the seasons had changed and autumn was now upon them.

Sarah lead him through the barn searching for his stable, she could tell heads were turning as he passed he certainly scrubs up well she thought to herself if only they had seen him last week after i brought him in from the fields haha he was almost black "you like a good roll eh boy ?" Soon enough the pair found their stable she unlatched the door and lead him in, after un-tacking him and removing the bandages she returned much to lions delight with a haynet he almost knocked her off her feet as she approached "steady on boy, I know you have a big day ahead of you tomorrow but no need to knock me down".

Early next morning Sarah ran down to the barn to tack up and hopefully get a practice in before the big show. He was not making tacking up easy though he held his head up high and puffed out his belly "Come on Lion, I Neeed to give you a wee practice before hand burn off some of that energy you have" Finally she got him down to the outdoor arena where she quickly set up a few jumps to practice over. She attached the lung line "dont look at me like that boy, you know what your like if i don't lunge you first, i will end up on the ground..... We don't want that happening again do we?" Soon after she hopped up into the saddle It was clear that he still had a lot of energy left in him as he cantered and bucked before settling down into a trot he began to focus and then went forward into a smooth canter as he approached the jump and cleared it with ease.

"Now entering the ring is contestant number 127 Lionheart a buckskin Hollendart Stallion ridden by Sarah Heartfeild" "you can do it boy" she whispered to him as she patted his neck This was the moment they had been training for , it was make or break time. Sarah and Lion cantered gracefully around the arena clearing every jump in their path, then disaster struck as they approached the green rollex oxer jump Lionheart reared up letting out a shrill whinny almost throwing sarah from the saddle he had caught sight of a coat flapping in the draft rested upon one of the seats in the audiance one of his worst fears, Calmly sarah turned him around and encouraged him to try again this time with success.

As she dismounted she thought to herself i guess it doesnt matter how we place it has been a great experiance " you have done me proud Lion"
